What is Moro Mou Nursery and Early School?
Moro Mou Nursery and Early School is a home-based day care and preschool in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Moro Mou (which means "my baby" in Greek) serves a maximum group size of three children aged 3 months to 4 years using research- and standards-based teaching strategies and curricula, inspired by the Reggio Emilia, High/Scope, and Progressive Education models. The director and lead teacher, Mari (they/them), holds a Master's degree in early childhood education. They operate Moro Mou from their home in Lincoln Park, and run all aspects of the day care and school with the utmost thoughtfulness and professionalism.
Moro Mou welcomes families of all backgrounds and practices anti-racism and inclusion in all aspects of the school. This means that we celebrate all children’s home cultures, we affirm all children’s gender identities, we create access for all diverse abilities, and we honor all the many forms that family can take.
